Where we come from, how we were raised, and who raised us make up a large portion of who we are. But, much of the stories along the way get lost to time and are forgotten. I came up with this format as an excuse to ask these questions to our family members so that these memories, these people, and this history is not forgotten.

My idea for this format came about while sitting down and recording interviews with my grandmother over a couple of years. Much of the stories she shared were unkown to me and would have been lost when she died back in 2022. But now not only do I have some of those stories recorded coming straight from her mouth, I also managed to capture her personality, her voice, her sense of humor, and the essence of who she was as a person.

If you could hear and see your great-grandparents and learn what their life was like, hear what their voices sounded like, see how they carry themselves, etc would you be interested in that? Now with this recording my future kids will be able to experience this. Something that only a time machine could bring me. These videos will bring to my future kids an understanding of our family, where we come from, and what makes us who we are. The good and the bad. A sense of home and belonging.
